In the autumn term, we were able to visit a few schools and provide enrichment and career pathway workshops.
The enrichment session at Biddick Academy focused on surds and developed some of the strategies used in this topic to look at an introduction to complex numbers and where these were used in real life.
In addition, we delivered career and maths pathway information to classes of students at Venerable Bede CE Academy. In these, we considered all of the post-16 maths options that are available to students, discussed some questions and looked at the multitude of jobs available to students who choose to study maths.
Both of these sessions were very enjoyable and the students were a credit to their respective schools.
