A group of excited teachers gathered at the NCVO on Friday 7 February 2020 to take part in a day of probability and hypothesis-testing, led by Gemma Boyle and Angus Grogono. The aim of the event was to link together a deep understanding of the probability basics, with exam-ready understanding of the three types of hypothesis test required for A level Mathematics.
There was a chance to look at the array of resources available for teachers, as well as the range of upcoming statistics-orientated professional development that is on offer from the AMSP, such as:
- The Large Data Set: Making Lessons Meaningful one-day event on Thursday 5 March 2020.
- Teaching Statistics 1 (TS1) sustained course, which starts on Wednesday 11 March 2020.
- AS and A level Maths: Statistics Live Online Professional Development (LOPD) course, which is running now.
- Spreadsheets and the large data set On Demand Professional Development (ODPD) course, which is self-paced so can be accessed whenever is convenient for you.
