Teachers of maths can now sign up for our Next Steps for Your A level Students one-day course. Participants will receive guidance on how best to support their A level students with various aspects surrounding the transition to undergraduate study.

The course explores how to successfully prepare your students for university admissions tests and for the mathematical expectations that universities have of students starting their courses. It will also explain specific indications of mathematical ability that universities look for in UCAS applications, for a variety of undergraduate degrees.

Attendees will be provided with lesson activities to broaden students’ understanding of the transition to mathematics at university. The day is split into various sessions, including:

  • Mathematics at University
  • Wider Mathematical Development
  • Mathematics for University Admissions Tests.

Courses begin at the end of November and continue into 2020. You can find your nearest event and view more information on our website.

This course is free for teachers working in state-funded schools and colleges. State-funded schools and colleges will also receive a subsidy of £200 for each teacher that attends this course.
