Congratulations to all students who are receiving their GCSE results today and well done to their teachers for all their hard work in supporting them during a year of disruption.

The AMSP encourages students to continue to study maths after GCSE to help prepare them for the future, whatever their aspirations. The ability to use maths with confidence is important in all walks of life.

To support students with the transition from GCSE to sixth-form study, the AMSP offers free resources to help consolidate key topics and skills to help them prepare for studying Core Maths or AS/A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.

For students who have achieved a grade 4 or above in GCSE Mathematics, but who are not intending to take AS/A level Mathematics, Core Maths is the ideal option. The course consolidates and extends the skills learnt at GCSE and helps support their understanding of the mathematical content in other subjects such as Psychology, Geography, Biology and Business.

The AMSP provides advice for students on choosing an advanced maths option – Core Maths, AS/A level Mathematics, AS/A level Further Mathematics.
