Returning in 2022 are the next round of our highly popular sustained professional development courses. Ten sustained courses are now open for bookings, all of which will support teachers of A level Mathematics or Further Mathematics with their teaching practice and a range of subject content over a period of up to six months.

The way that each sustained course will be delivered varies. Depending on the course chosen, features could include:

  • compulsory face-to-face study days
  • live online tutorials
  • interactive online sessions
  • access to online teaching and learning resources
  • email support from tutors
  • access to an online group forum
  • textbooks to support your studies

The sustained courses that have opened for applications are:

Pedagogy for A level Mathematics (PALM)

Explores the underlying principles of effective A level Mathematics teaching.

New and Aspiring Heads of Maths (HOM)

Explores the skills required to be a successful head of department, with a strong focus on issues specific to maths.

These courses are free of charge to teachers working in state-funded schools and colleges in England, and there are generous subsidies available for teachers who work in state-funded schools and colleges in Priority Areas.
