On Wednesday 29 June 2022 and Wednesday 6 July 2022, Trentham Academy in Stoke-on-Trent will host two twilight professional development sessions on Raising Confidence with Higher Mathematics from 15:45-17:45.
Both of the sessions aim to provide strategies and ideas for you to deepen your students’ understanding of higher maths topics, and to encourage your students to study maths beyond GCSE.
The sessions will focus on increasing classroom confidence with GCSE topics that are vital for students continuing into Core Maths, and AS/A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics study. They’ll develop strategies and ideas for taking a piece of maths and extending it, exploring the sort of connections that deepen understanding, develop fluency, and can be used immediately in your classroom to support all students. There will also be opportunities to consider how these concepts and resources could be embedded in professional practice and contribute towards the ambition and intent of your department’s curriculum.
