The AMSP continues to partner with the NCETM and Maths Hubs to support maths education from early years through to university. The AMSP Area Coordinators meet regularly with the Maths Hub Level 3 leads to ensure that a thorough and well thought-out support package is available to schools and colleges to support their development of Level 3 maths.

The Maths Hub Level 3 Work Groups provide opportunities for a group of teachers to work in a sustained manner across the year to develop a particular pedagogical focus. The AMSP runs regular network meetings which can be tailored to whatever Level 3 needs are requested by the teachers involved; examples span from university entrance tests to how to recruit for next year’s Year 12 cohort.

To engage with your local network, please contact your local Area Coordinator. If there is a specific topic that you want advice or support on, then they can ensure that it is covered. They can also provide guidance towards appropriate Maths Hub Work Groups.

The South region’s five existing Maths Hubs (BBO, Solent, Sussex, North East Hants and Surrey, and Kent and Medway) are being joined by a sixth hub: the Mobius Maths Hub. This new Hub covers the areas of West Berkshire, Reading, Wokingham, and Bracknell Forest, as well as Wiltshire and Swindon. The Maths Hub lead is Aysha Stone and the Level 3 Lead is Emma James; I know they would be delighted to hear from schools in their region.
