Teachers from across North London gathered online for a Teacher Network meeting on Thursday 7 May 2020 to share their experiences of teaching sixth form maths in lockdown. Eighteen teachers joined one of the two sessions (repeated to allow for different timing preferences), which aimed to celebrate good practice, and share the experience of curating an online experience for our students.

A host of ideas tumbled out in the discussion – about how to engage students, how to deliver new material, how to assess students’ progress, and what technology best supported these different aspects. The discussion of how to best use the technological environment led to a spin-off workshop on the opportunities offered by Microsoft OneNote, led by Nikhil Dholakia, Head of Research at John Lyon School. The feedback was universally positive.
