In May, the AMSP East Midlands regional team will host a Live Online Y8/9 Inter-School Maths Quiz for students across the East Midlands region. This event was originally due to take place in January 2021, but has been postponed until May.
The quiz has been designed so that you can run it with an entire class, split into teams of two or three, or even with individual students working remotely. Each team will need a computer, tablet or smartphone so that they can submit their answers online.
The quiz can be included as part of your lesson with a Year 8 or Year 9 class. It’s only 30 minutes long and will be offered at various times on Tuesday 4 May and Thursday 8 May so that as many schools as possible can participate.
Schools can enter as many teams as they wish, in as many time slots as they wish. Scores will be shown for each particular session, and we’ll collate scores to decide heat winners after both competition days are complete.
