Our highly popular sustained professional development courses are now open for bookings, and will begin in the 2022/23 academic year in various locations across England.
The AMSP’s sustained courses last for several months and represent our most comprehensive form of professional development. Participating teachers will receive support from experienced course tutors, have access to dedicated course resources, and get the chance to work with like-minded colleagues.
Five of our sustained courses are now open for applications:
Teaching A level Mathematics (TAM)
A year-long course supporting those who are new to teaching A level Mathematics, featuring a series of study days and feedback on an observed lesson.
Teaching Statistics 1 (TS1) and Teaching Mechanics 1 (TM1)
Comprehensive support for those teaching the applied content in A level Mathematics. Both of these courses include regular online sessions to enhance subject knowledge, plus two study days to develop teaching ideas.
Teaching Further Mathematics 1 (TFM1) and Teaching Discrete Mathematics 1 (TD1)
Following a similar format to TS1 and TM1, both of these courses are designed to support teachers of A level Further Mathematics.
For teachers working in state-funded schools and colleges, these courses are either free or include a subsidy to cover the full course fee.
We’re running further sustained courses throughout the 2022/23 academic year, including New and Aspiring Heads of Maths (HOM) which will open for bookings in September 2022. If you’d like to be contacted when HOM opens for bookings, please complete this registration of interest form or subscribe to our mailing list to be kept updated on all of our sustained courses. You can view further details on our entire suite of sustained courses on the AMSP website.
