Do you hear your students saying, “I’m fine once I know what to do, I just don’t know how to start!”?

Our A level Problem Solving Teacher Conference gives teachers strategies for supporting students with this common frustration.

Bookings are open for our A level Problem Solving Teacher Conference. This one-day professional development conference is designed to support teachers of AS/A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. You will experience interesting and stimulating ways of embedding higher level problem-solving skills in the classroom while considering how student aspirations can be raised by using challenging questions in safe situations. In addition, this is a great opportunity to network and share ideas with fellow teachers.

You will have the choice of workshops throughout the day and two plenary sessions. The workshops you can choose from throughout the day:

Integrating Problem Solving
Developing Problem Solving through Group Work
Exploring University Admissions Tests: TMUA for everyone
Exploring University Admissions Tests: Supporting Exceptional Students
Teaching Modelling

This course is aimed at teachers from state-funded schools, colleges and academies. Teachers from independent schools are welcome to apply for a place. In this case, a place will only be granted if there is availability.

The A level Problem Solving Teacher Conference is free to state-funded schools and colleges.

Schools and colleges located within Targeted Support for Level 3 Maths Areas are eligible to receive a subsidy of £200 to support staff cover and travel costs.
