Maths and Beyond
Maths and Beyond is a fun, interactive maths enrichment event for students in years 10 and 11 to inspire and encourage them to consider studying maths to A level and beyond. So, bring your students along to experience what it’s like to sit in a lecture theatre at the University of Warwick!
Throughout the day, the students will attend workshops which can act as a ‘taster’ to A level Maths, Further Maths and Core Maths to inspire them to take the subject beyond GCSE and into post-16!
This year at Maths and Beyond, we are delighted to welcome Ben Sparks (www.bensparks.co.uk) as our Keynote Speaker, who will round off the day by giving an engaging presentation about ‘The Creation of Number’.
Research has shown that female students, in particular, benefit from any opportunities to try out the maths they would be learning in the future when considering their A level choices, as well as the obvious benefit of experiencing maths outside the curriculum. With International Women’s Day on Wednesday, 8 March, there’s never been a more appropriate time to take a group of your female student to one of our enrichment events to encourage and inspire them in their mathematical journey!
