COURSE OVERVIEW
Deepen your understanding of the maths, statistics and programming that underpin machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Our Bringing the Maths of Data Science and AI into the Computer Science classroom course is designed for A level Computer Science teachers to explore data analysis, predictive modelling and the role of mathematics in AI. Through the course, you will use tools such as Python in practical, hands-on activities.
You will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of how maths and statistics support machine learning and AI, and see how these ideas can be integrated into A level Computer Science teaching. We will provide you with classroom-ready activities and resources to enrich students’ learning through data analysis.
This course is offered in partnership with The British Computer Society and provides both subject knowledge and practical teaching approaches that can be used directly in the classroom.
5 online sessions
The five sessions will be held via Zoom. The technology tasks will use free web-based platforms such as Desmos, Kaggle or Google Colab.
