Programme Overview

Aiming to develop students’ knowledge of how maths and statistics underpin machine learning and AI.

Our student offer of Maths into AI programme aims to support their future study and careers by developing practical skills in modelling with real data.

There are two versions of the Maths into Data Science and AI course: one for A level Mathematics students and one for students on other level 3 programmes with a mathematical content, such as Core Maths, A level Computer Science or A level Statistics.

Students attend 11 weekly one-hour online lessons over a single term, and are assessed through an examination and a practical task. All lessons include analysis of data sets taken from real contexts such as climate, sport, business and demographics.

The DfE provides funding so that places on this course are free to students from state-funded schools and colleges in England only. Other students are not accepted onto these courses.

Teachers need to register their students for this course; we will not accept applications directly from students.

Yes, places are strictly limited to a maximum of 15 students from a school/college.
