COURSE OVERVIEW
Develop your confidence as a Key Stage 5 Coordinator through practical leadership insight, shared experience and curriculum-focused discussion.
Our Key Stage 5 Coordinator Development course is for current and aspiring KS5 Coordinators, and for teachers with responsibility for post-16 maths courses or increasing participation in level 3 maths.
Across five interactive sessions, you will explore the challenges and opportunities of leading post-16 maths, drawing on the experience of both tutors and other teachers. The course offers a supportive space to reflect on your role, share ideas and discuss practical approaches to curriculum leadership, teaching and student participation.
You will also explore active learning approaches in A level Mathematics, A level Further Mathematics and Core Maths, considering how these can support effective teaching and curriculum development in your setting. Alongside the sessions, you will have access to course-specific resources and recordings through Integral to support continued professional learning beyond the course.
5 online sessions
The five online sessions will last 90 mins and be held via Zoom.
You will also have one year of access to course-specific resources online via MEI’s learning platform, Integral.
The course will run once per term during the academic year; in the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. Please ensure you are able to attend at least 75% of your chosen scheduled sessions before applying.

The DfE provides funding so that places on this course are free to teachers from state-funded schools and colleges in England. For those who do not meet this criterion, the course fee of £135 will apply.
Priority will be given to teachers in state-funded schools and colleges in England. Where we have spare capacity, we extend our support to other teachers and operate a waiting list.
New or aspiring KS5 Coordinators; those with responsibility for coordinating post-16 maths courses and/or raising participation in level 3 Maths.
The focus of this course is on leadership, and although there will be some subject content included, it will be for the purposes of demonstrating active learning techniques to share with your department rather than to enable you to teach this content specifically.
