The AMSP is delighted to support teachers of GCSE and A level Mathematics this spring with a series of free, in-person professional development events. Designed by maths experts, these one-day conferences help teachers develop students’ reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical thinking across either Higher Tier GCSE or AS/A level Mathematics. They provide practical strategies and collaborative spaces where you can gain fresh approaches and make a real impact in your classroom.

Introducing Higher Tier GCSE Maths Conference

New for 2026, this one-day conference brings GCSE Maths teachers together to strengthen mathematical reasoning and curriculum coherence – helping you enhance students’ understanding of Higher Tier GCSE Mathematics. Through four linked sessions, you’ll explore:

  • Developing Mathematical Reasoning: Identify which skills to apply in unfamiliar contexts.
  • Coherence in the Curriculum: See connections across topics and year groups.
  • Technology at GCSE: Use tools like Desmos and GeoGebra to enrich learning.
  • Preparing for post-16: Support the transition to A Level, Further Maths, and Core Maths.

The conference is suitable for any teacher teaching Higher Tier GCSE, with Heads of Maths and KS4 Leaders finding the curriculum coherence focus particularly valuable.
