Over the coming months, we’re running three online courses for teachers of A level Biology, Geography, and Psychology. The online sessions aim to develop your confidence in teaching the mathematical elements of your A level subject. If you’re a teacher of maths, we’d be grateful if you’d share the details below with your colleagues in relevant departments.
We’re running three separate courses:
Maths for teachers of A level Biology
- Begins on Tuesday 8 November 2022.
- Sessions include Percentages and Standard form and Statistical tests: t-tests.
- Running in partnership with the Association for Science Education as part of the ‘Mathematics for Biology Teachers’ (MfBT) project, with support from the Department for Education.
Maths for teachers of A level Geography
- Begins on Wednesday 9 November 2022.
- Sessions include Teaching averages and variation and Using technology to work with data.
- Running in conjunction with the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) as part of the Geography and Core Maths Initiative.
Maths for teachers of A level Psychology
- Begins on Wednesday 2 November 2022.
- Topics covered include percentages, standard form, and statistical tests.
- Running in partnership with the Association for the Teaching of Psychology
All teachers in England are eligible for this course, however free places are available only to teachers in state-funded schools, colleges and academies in England. For others the course fee is £195. Applications for free places will be checked to verify eligibility.
