Overview
Our Extended Courses enable teachers to broaden and deepen their subject knowledge and pedagogy. This makes teachers better equipped to make links between topics, address students’ misconceptions and confidently challenge learners at all attainment levels.
Each course will include a dynamic mix of regular online sessions to boost your subject knowledge, as well as two in-person study days to explore innovative teaching ideas and collaborate with others. You’ll have access to dedicated course resources and get the chance to collaborate with fellow educators.
Courses Coming this Spring
For Teachers of AS/A level Mathematics
Dive into the applied content of A level Mathematics with our insightful six-month courses. This program is designed to sharpen your skills and inspire your teaching.
Teaching Statistics 1 (TS1)
Starting 4 March 2026, with study days in London, prepare to unlock new strategies for teaching statistics; this course provides support on the applied content of A level Mathematics.
Teaching Mechanics 1 (TM1)
Starting 22 January 2026, with study days in London or Bristol, you’ll get the chance to unlock new strategies for teaching mechanics; this course provides support on the applied content of A level Mathematics.
For Teachers of AS/A level Further Mathematics
The following courses build on the knowledge gained in TS1 and TM1 and cover the statistics and mechanics content from AS/A Level Further Mathematics.
Teaching Statistics 2 (TS2)
Starting 3 March 2026, with study days in London or Manchester, you’ll have the opportunity to build on your knowledge of statistics; this course provides support on the applied content of A level Further Mathematics.
Teaching Mechanics 2 (TM2)
Starting 4 February 2026, with study days in London, you’ll build on your knowledge of mechanics; this course provides support on the applied content of A level Further Mathematics.
Alternatively, we offer opportunities to develop your pure knowledge in Further Mathematics. These courses also run over six months with a blend of regular online twilight sessions and two interactive in-person study days. Take a look at the courses available below.
Teaching Further Mathematics 1 (TFM1)
Starting 14 January 2026, with study days in London, this course covers at least the pure material content common to all AS level Further Mathematics specifications.
Teaching Further Mathematics 2 (TFM2)
Starting 3 February 2026, with study days in London, you’ll build on your knowledge of A level Further Mathematics. This course provides support on the compulsory pure content. While TFM2 is recommended for teachers who have already completed TFM1, it is open to anyone with suitable teaching experience.
All courses are completely free of charge for teachers working in state-funded schools and colleges in England!
