Face-to-face student enrichment returns

Thursday 9th December 2021

Following 18 months of online professional development and enrichment, it was an absolute delight for the AMSP to work collaboratively with BCP (Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch) Council and the Jurassic Maths Hub to put on a face-to-face student enrichment event on Thursday 16 September 2021.

Approximately 100 students from Year 10 classes in BCP schools engaged with a variety of hands-on workshops on mathematical applications including Acoustic Engineering, Cryptography, Chiromatics, Networking and, of course, a bit of competitive problem solving with the Fun Maths Roadshow! Feedback from students highlighted how they appreciated seeing where the maths they learn in the classroom is used in the ‘real’ world, thanks to the time given by local industries, including Hoare Lea, AECC, BAE, AECOM and the online keynote by Dr Ejay Nsugbe on Maths for Saving Lives.

We're hoping to be able to continue to offer face-to-face student enrichment events in the current situation – please ensure that you're subscribed to receive our latest news to get the latest information from your local Area Coordinator on these events. We also offer a variety of online enrichment events to help inspire your students.
