As we head into October, schools and colleges that offer post-16 courses will be starting to advertise and promote these options to students in Year 11.
In recognition of the fact that the traditional open evening approach will be problematic this year, the AMSP has produced resources to help provide information to students, parents and carers. You can now find the following on the AMSP website:
- A downloadable and editable ‘Why study maths?’ PowerPoint presentation that can be used by schools and colleges to promote post-16 maths options, as well as teacher notes and background information.
- Three videos based on this presentation, together with transcripts (in case you want to personalise them with your voice).
- A set of six taster lessons to give students an idea of what further study in maths might involve (two each relating to Core Maths, A level Mathematics and A level Further Mathematics). Each taster lesson comprises a short introductory video and an accompanying Desmos interactive task.
