COURSE OVERVIEW

Introducing students to mathematical problems at the difficulty level of the TMUA (Test of Mathematics for University Admission).

This course will prepare students for the TMUA (Test of Mathematics for University Admission), the mathematical admissions test used by some universities for undergraduate admissions for Mathematics and other maths-related degree programmes.

The TMUA consists of two papers, each with 20 multiple-choice questions. This course will develop students’ problem-solving skills so they have confidence in applying for universities that require the exam or consider it in the application process. Expert tutors will support students in their preparation for the exam.

The course will run as 7 sessions online in small groups, with the opportunity to communicate with the course tutor during the live sessions via the instant chat feature of the virtual classroom.

Year 12 students who will be going into Year 13 in September and are anticipating sitting the TMUA in the Autumn or Spring term.

No, unfortunately, if you have already received a place on our Problem Solving Matters course, you will not be eligible to apply to the Preparing for the TMUA course.

However, we will be happy to accept an application for the on-demand, self-study course for the TMUA:

This course is for students from state-funded schools, colleges and academies in the United Kingdom.

When a course is open for application, students can apply via the Application button on this page. Applications are expected to be open during JuneJuly and August; however, we will close applications early if we reach capacity.

Students will need to register for a myMEI account using their current school/college address and their pupil email address. Applications made using personal details will not be eligible.

Yes – We welcome applications from home-educated students. If you are home-educated, please contact us via [email protected] before submitting an application to request an MEI account.
