The Advanced Mathematics Support Programme invites you to a day of stimulating mathematical talks and activities designed to help students see the usefulness and fun of maths beyond the curriculum.
Schools may bring up to 12 students and an accompanying teacher free of charge; this event is open to all state schools.
Aims
- To offer students a taste of Maths beyond GCSE
- To provide information about Maths options available post 16
Who will benefit from attending?
Any Year 10 students who are considering studying maths beyond GCSE, especially those who may be undecided.

09:30 - 09:45 Arrival and registration
09:45 - 10:10 Welcome and opening talk
10:10 - 11:10 Workshop 1
11:10 - 11:30 Break
11:30 - 12:30 Workshop 2
12:30 - 13:15 Lunch (bring packed lunch)
13:15 - 14:15 Workshop 3
14:15 - 14:30 Closing talk
Other Information
You are invited to bring a group of Year 10 students to this event; the group will need to be accompanied by an adult/adults from school who will be responsible for them during the day.
Details on how to get there to the venue and car parking arrangements will be forwarded to participating schools closer to the event.
Eligibility
This event is for participants from state-funded schools and academies. Applications from independent schools will be accepted if there is availability.
