North East 16-19 Network Meeting

Overview

The North East Post 16 Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of A Level Maths, A Level Further Maths and Core Maths maths to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. We meet termly and the programme is mainly speaker-led training events and may include informal sessions. It is based in Newcastle.

Agenda

  • Vicky Wheelhouse: Structuring for success at A Level session looks at how Structure (one of the 5 Big Ideas of Mastery as suggested by the NCETM) Why we care about this approach from KS2/3)? How is it relevant to A Level maths?
  • Teaching and exams post lock down - feedback/discussion
  • T Levels. With more schools and colleges introducing these qualifications are there implications for Maths departments to consider?
  • Core Maths updates
  • Transition - support and available resources

This is our termly Post-16 Network Meeting for teachers and others in the North East. We will be making a welcome return to our traditional venue of Newcastle University!
