This event is suitable for students studying A level Maths and Further Maths and their teachers. The day will be full of inspiration, information and interaction with presenters offering information about university entrance exams, where maths can take you, competitions and focus on curriculum areas.
Students studying other STEM subjects without maths are also welcome to apply and may find the day beneficial.

Students may need paper, pen and calculator for some of the sessions

2:30 - 3:30 The future of Maths and its applications - In this interactive keynote talk, Nicole Cozens will address developments in STEM, explore what the future might look like, what careers you could have and what revolutions might be around the corner.

Exploring polynomials with Jana Carpinato
Improve your familiarity and ability with manipulating and sketching polynomials to enhance your problem solving techniques
Exploring Statistics with Sally Howie
Explore hypothesis tests using the binomial distribution, to improve ability to answer exam style questions. Will include the use of calculators and GeoGebra
Exploring Mechanics with Deanna Nicholson
Try your hand at some practical experiments to get a real feel for forces and motion
Exploring Decision Maths with Jeff Trim
Graph theory in the company of Schlegel, Euler & Plato: Find out how well you can visualise in three dimensions and explore the fascinating properties of polyhedra
