Kent and Medway Summer Conference - Preparing Students for the Mathematical Demands of University Study
OnlineOverview
The Kent and Medway Maths Conference is an annual event where the AMSP and the Kent and Medway Maths Hub come together to provide outstanding professional development opportunities for teachers of maths in Kent and Medway. The conference is taking place online this year and is running as a series of twilight workshops (16.15 to 17.45) from Monday 11th July 2022 until Thursday 14th July 2022.
Several universities, not just the most selective ones, require or encourage students to sit admissions tests for mathematics and for other courses with a mathematical component - this number has risen in the recent years. Some admissions tests are compulsory while some some simply reduce entrance requirements.
This session will provide an introduction to university admissions tests. It will discuss the support students need in school and signpost AMSP provision where they can access further support to ensure that they gain the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed.
