Maths in Action
MedwayOverview
Maths in Action is a whole-day, hands on event for year 10 students.
Students will take part in enjoyable mathematical activities designed to develop within them an increased awareness of the beauty and usefulness of the subject, raise their aspirations and increase the likelihood that they will want to continue to study maths beyond GCSE.
Schools are invited to apply for 10 free places in the first instance. It is possible that more places could be made available to you subsequently if we have unexpected availability.
Aims
- Students will engage in enjoyable mathematical activities
- Students will develop an increased awareness of the beauty and usefulness of mathematics
- Students will have raised aspirations
- Students will be more likely to want to continue studying maths beyond GCSE
Who will benefit from attending?
Year 10 students who would benefit from studying maths beyond GCSE but not yet convinced that they would benefit from doing so.
