Croydon Teacher Network

Developing Problem Solving at GCSE

Croydon Teacher Network is a collaboration between Trinity School and the AMSP which encourages KS3, KS4 and KS5 maths teachers to get together to discuss issues and share best practice. We meet every half-term, with the programme being decided by the teachers attending the sessions. We have a variety of different activities, including speaker-led training events and sessions where teachers present their resources. The network is open to all teachers (you do not need to be based in Croydon)

We’re excited to have a face-to-face Croydon Teacher’s Network again. In the next network we’ll focus on problem solving at GCSE although the ideas will also support KS3, Core Maths and A Level Maths.

This session will:

  • consider student barriers to developing problem solving strategies,
  • consider strategies for developing problem solving strategies in the classroom,
  • consider different sources of problems.

As well as considering problem solving, there will be the opportunity to do some maths. It would be fantastic if you could bring sources of good problem-solving activities to share with colleagues.

Please use the link to register so that Covid advice can be sent nearer the network.

Dates of future Croydon Teacher Networks are (Thursdays) 10th March, 12th May and 23rd June.
