North West Surrey Teacher Network

GCSE to A level Transition

Overview

The North West Surrey Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of Maths in the Chertsey and Woking area of Surrey to meet, collaborate and share best practice. Meetings will take place termly and the programme is planned by teacher request. The meetings will be a mixture of informal sessions and training events.

Content

This is an informal face to face network meeting where we will showcase the AMSP GCSE-A level Transition which is available free of charge to all state schools. We will discuss how schools can access this and how it might be used to support students beginning their A level course.

There will also be an opportunity to discuss students difficulties with particular topics, in this session we would welcome teacher bringing questions on 'Graphs' that students have found difficult, what we might do to support those students and why students find these types of questions tricky.

It is also an opportunity to get to know colleagues in the local area. The event is suitable for all teachers of Maths.
