Hertfordshire Mathematics Teacher Network

Catch-up discussions including year 10 to year 12 progression

The Hertfordshire Mathematics Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project allowing teachers of maths to meet, to collaborate and to share professional development. We meet termly and the programme is a mixture of interactive discussion and speaker-led training events.

There will be the opportunity to compare current circumstances and to share thoughts on the following issues

1) Deciding on year 11 exam entries between foundation and higher.

2) Considering additional maths qualifications (AQA Level 2 further maths, Edexcel Algebra award, OCR Additional maths).

3) Recruitment ideas for post-16 courses.

Materials and Equipment

This meeting will be held on Zoom. An invitation will be sent to you as a link by email in the week of the event.

You are advised to use a headset or headphones with an inline microphone to provide the best sound quality and to prevent audio issues for other users. A laptop with a built-in webcam and microphone may be sufficient if you’re in a quiet area but please take the time to check this before the session.

Discussion will be both via audio and chat boxes. Please join with a microphone if possible. It would great if teachers are able to join with cameras on but this is, of course, not compulsory.
