Coventry, North Warwickshire and Solihull NetworkSupporting Students with Transition to University
The Coventry, North Warwickshire and Solihull A level Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of A level maths to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. We meet termly and the programme is mainly speaker-led training events and may include informal sessions.
- 4.30-5.00pm AMSP support and key points of emphasis
- 5.00-5.45pm a look at University Admissions tests
- 5.45-6.00pm time for questions and summary points
This event is designed to provide useful information for teachers as they support students who are looking at a maths or maths related degree. If you have students who will need this support then don’t miss out on the opportunity to receive insights, tips and updates, as well as connecting with colleagues who are doing the same.
Fiona Kitchen will outline the AMSP local and national support available for teachers and students, and how this can complement what is provided in-school. Richard Lissaman (University of Warwick) will go through some key hints and tips specifically related to University Admissions Tests and take us through a sample question.
Materials and Equipment
This meeting will be held on Zoom, an online conferencing system that allows participants to collaborate in real time. An invitation will be sent to you prior to the meeting.
You are advised to use a headset or headphones with an inline microphone to provide the best sound quality and to prevent audio issues for other users. A laptop with a built-in webcam and microphone may be sufficient if you’re in a quiet area but please take the time to check this before the session. Joining with your camera on would be most welcome but, of course, not compulsory.
