Mathematical Problem Solving and MAT/TMUA PreparationNewcastle upon Tyne
This course is suitable for students in years 12 or 13 who wish to challenge themselves and develop their mathematical problem solving skills and/or those who are preparing for the MAT or TMUA papers in October. Students who are expecting to sit the STEP paper later in the year would also benefit from attending.
During each session the class will be split into two groups. Those wanting to look at general problem solving (primarily year 12 students) will be in one group and those preparing for MAT/TMUA or who would like to practise questions from these papers (primarily year 13 students) will be in the other.
- Develop your general mathematical problem solving skills.
- Develop your mathematical communication skills by working collaboratively with other students
- Be more prepared for potentially studying Maths or related subjects at university
Who will benefit from attending?
Any year 12 or 13 student who enjoys maths and is potenially considering studying maths or a related subject at university.
Students who are sitting the MAT or TMUA papers in October in particular are stongly encouraged to attend!
