All About the University Admissions Tests

Over the last few years there have been changes to the University Admissions Tests, and an increase in problem solving and reasoning in the A level specifications.  This session looks at the similarities and differences between the tests, and how they are relevant for more than your highest fliers.

There will be a focus on exploring problems from the tests and discussing ways to use the materials in lessons.

Participants will leave with a collection of materials, links to relevant resources and with the buzz of thinking in new ways about AS level maths.

  • To explore ways to develop problem solving and reasoning in the classroom
  • To be familiar with the three admissions tests

Who will benefit from attending?

This session is suitable for any teacher of A level maths wishing to develop their student's confidence and facility with reasoning and problem solving.

It is particularly useful for teachers wishing to become familiar with the admissions tests.

Materials and Equipment

The session is planned to be face to face, but if the situation changes will move to online.

Bring a calculator and plenty of working paper!

If your AS maths is rusty, a revision guide might help.
