Doing maths "live"... problem solving in a STEM interview

Overview

The North West Surrey Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of Maths in the Chertsey and Woking area of Surrey to meet, collaborate and share best practice. Meetings will take place termly and the programme is planned by teacher request. The meetings will be a mixture of informal sessions and training events.

Content

In this network meeting, we will discuss the preparation students need to solve mathematical problems in interviews. In particular, we will compare interview skills with other problem solving challenges, such as admissions tests. We will also solve some interview questions!

Materials and Equipment

Traditional problem-solving resources, such as pencil, paper and (optional) hot beverage.
