Bringing Stats to LifeOnline
Students who go on to study A levels with mathematical requirements, such as Psychology and Geography, often struggle to interpret descriptive statistics in context. This will be amplified by the pandemic. During this session, we will model approaches to teaching descriptive statistics and share ideas on how to engage your students in meaningful discussions about data.
- Develop confidence in teaching descriptive statistics
- Understand how studying Level 3 Core Maths can support students in their other courses
- Network and share ideas with fellow teachers
Who will benefit from attending?
This session will be useful for teachers of GCSE Maths, Level 3 Core Maths and also for teachers of other subjects. To encourage cross-curricular collaboration we encourage you to attend with a teacher from another department in your school or college. No previous knowledge is expected.
This session will focus on measures of central tendency and spread and the use of online statistical tools.
