Use of Geogebra Classroom for Vectors in Further Maths A level

Overview

GeoGebra is a very powerful dynamic graphing tool that can be used to visualise many of the concepts in Further Maths including vectors in 3D. The new GeoGebra Classroom feature allows you to easily share activities with classes of students and review their interactions and responses. This is an ideal tool to suit learning in classrooms or by students at home.

Aims

  • To develop the teaching of A level Further Mathematics

Who will benefit from attending?

New and aspiring teachers of A level Further Mathematics and teachers looking to develop their teaching of Vectors in Futher Mathematics.

Content

In this session we will demonstrate how to use the vectors tools in 3D GeoGebra to create lines and planes. We will also show how to assign GeoGebra Classroom activities as well as considering how you can integrate these into your teaching.

Materials and Equipment

This meeting will be held on Zoom, which is an online conferencing system that allows participants to collaborate in real time. An invitation will be sent to you around 20 minutes before we start. Please do not share this link with anyone else.

You are advised to use a headset or headphones with an inline microphone to provide the best sound quality and to prevent audio issues for other users. Discussion will be both via audio and chat boxes. Please join with a microphone if possible. Joining with your camera on would be most welcome but, of course, not compulsory.

As part of our safeguarding procedures please note the following: (i) It is important that you log in with the names you used when you registered for the course otherwise you may not be allowed into the room.
