Northants & Rutland Teacher Network
Grade decisionsOverview
An Online meeting to share good practice.
Content
Our first Summer term Network meeting will be looking at the procedures that maths departments can use to decide grades. Individual schools will no doubt be drawing up policies but the more that we can share the good ideas from one school to the next, the better.
This is particularly relevant for small groups or new courses where we may not have much comparable data to work with. In A level maths particularly we have very few past papers for the current specification and Further Maths groups are often small.
The workload issues involved will be huge so we can share ideas for keeping things reasonable for teachers. We can look at the various "what ifs" that may come up from individual situations. Hopefully the more we can plan together and share ideas, the fewer appeals there will be.
Materials and Equipment
The meeting will be held on Big Blue Button, our online platform so please ensure you have access to a microphone.
