Nottingham and Derby Online Network Meeting

Maths, Girls and Careers

Overview

Our Network Meetings are an opportunity for teachers to get together and informally discuss issues which may affect the Maths classroom. In this meeting, we will look at specific careers which use the mathematical techniques and skills learnt at school; we will also look at how girls respond to the delivery of maths in the classroom. A discussion of how we can help our students who have not taken formal examinations will also take place.

Aims

  • To highlight the significance of maths and careers
