Little Heath Teacher NetworkPreparing Students for A level - The 6 Concepts Project
The Little Heath Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of Maths in the Reading and West Berkshire areas to meet, collaborate and share best practice. We meet termly and the programme is planned by teacher request and will involve a mixture of informal sessions and training events
Do you find that some students struggle more with the transition to A level Maths than others?
What can you do to support the transition from GCSE Maths to A level Maths?
Jo Sibley, Online Professional Development Lead for the AMSP, will talk about the 6Concepts project; a project to support the transition from GCSE to A level Maths. She will talk about the key ideas behind the project, what it is and how it might be used within your department to consider how you approach key topics in order to ease the transition from KS4 to KS5.
The project is suitable for all teachers to take back to their departments, especially but not only KS5 coordinators or others holding positions of responsibility within the Maths Department. It is suitable for schools with A level provision as well as FE colleges and their feeder schools.
