This twilight course, for teachers of AS and A level Maths & Further Mathematics, provides an opportunity to discuss some of the key questions from the latest series of Edexcel A Level Papers. There will be a brief look at some new resources for both A Level & Further Maths. The session will end with an introduction to some future Teaching & Learning CPD Sessions for Further Maths (Core Pure & Further Mechanics topics) which will be run next term.
- Discuss some of the key questions from the October 2020 series.
- Being given access to a Google Drive which contains A-Level (2017), reformed International AL and legacy resources; focusing on some new materials to support the T & L for both Maths and Further Maths.
- Decide which Further Maths topics we intend to cover as part of future CPD sessions, and where to find an extensive collection of resources for each of these seven areas.
Who will benefit from attending?
All teachers of A level Maths & Further Mathematics, who would like to develop their knowledge and classroom practice, but particularly those colleagues new to teaching Edexcel Further Mathematics.
Delegates will get a copy of the Presentation and access to Google Drive link containing all the resources referred to during the session and a lot more!
Materials and Equipment
The AMSP uses Big Blue Button (BBB), which is an online conferencing system that allows participants to collaborate in real time. It is easy to use and has features which enable a tutor and participants to communicate live on-line by using audio, video, instant messaging and, if needed, writing on a shared virtual whiteboard.
The session will be remote and will take place on the Big Blue Button platform, as such you will need a laptop/desktop computer or other internet enabled device.
We will set up the classroom and send you the classroom link, via e-mail, shortly before the session is due to start.
BBB is designed to be used on a variety of platforms but you will get the best experience via a desktop or laptop computer, running either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as the browser. Note: Internet Explorer and Edge are not suitable currently.
It is advised that you check the requirements to access the online classroom in advance of the live session that you will be attending. You can do this at any time.
You will need a webcam, microphone and headphones/speakers to take engage fully.

Presenter Pietro Tozzi, has been teaching/training for 35 years and has Head of Department experience. Pietro has contributed towards the Edexcel/Pearson Training Programme and assisted in the writing of A-Level Schemes of Work (Pure & Mechanics content) for the 2017 Specifications. He also supports and presents at some of the Pearson Collaborative Hubs up and down the country.
