Teaching with Desmos

Online series

Unlock the power of Desmos in your classroom ...

Desmos is free graphing software that can be used to help deepen students' understanding of mathematics. There is also an extensive set of pre-made classroom activities that you can use with students. Desmos is a very easy to use tool to integrate the use of technology into GCSE and A level Mathematics.

This series of sessions is will support you in making effective use of Desmos for your students. We will cover the graphing calculator and classroom activities. We will also demonstrate how the classroom activities can be an invaluable learning tool both face to face and when delivering lessons via remote learning and how you can develop your skills in creating your own activities.

  • To develop your skills in using the Desmos graphing calculator
  • To explore the use of Desmos classroom activities, including adapting activities using computation layer
  • To consider effective strategies for using the graphing calculator and Desmos activities in GCSE and A level Mathematics

Who will benefit from attending?

This session is ideal for all teachers of GCSE or A level Mathematics who want to make greater use of technology in their teaching. Please join us to see how easy it is to use Desmos.

Absolute beginners to Desmos are welcome to the first session - no prior knowledge or experience will be assumed.

Subsequent sessions will rely on the content from earlier sessions.
