Overview

The North West A Level Maths Conference is ideal for any teachers who are planning to teach A Level Mathematics for the first time, or who have recently started teaching this course. We will aim to make you more confident with the content of the course while also featuring interesting teaching ideas.

A particular feature of this course is the special emphasis on the development of the overarching themes of problem solving and technology.

You may book onto as many or as few sessions as you wish.

Access to resources will be shared via dropbox after the event

Aims

  • To examine the key concepts in the Mathematics A Level
  • To discuss a range of approaches to teaching the content effectively and engagingly, with particular reference to technology
  • To provide access to a wide variety of suitable resources

Content

This session will look at change of sign, iterative, Newton-Raphson and rearrangement methods (including graphs and failure) and the trapezium rule

Eligibility

Priority will be given to schools and colleges in priority areas. Each school/college may send up to two teachers, if you'd like to send more then please get in touch with your Area Coordinator.
