Gateshead Teacher Network

Online KS 3/4/5 Use of Desmos Classroom Activities

The Teacher Network based in Gateshead is an AMSP-funded project. It is a new network set up in response to local demand, allowing teachers from around the region to meet, collaborate and share best practice. The agenda will be set depending on the needs locally. We will meet termly and the programme will have a mixture of practical activities and speakers with informal sessions

  • Resource discussion on use of online maths apps such as Hegarty Maths, Mathswatch etc
  • Use of Desmos - interactive classroom activities
  • KS5 planning for the next academic year

This network meeting will focus on the use of Technology in particular use of Desmos to plan and run interactive classroom activities. It will be useful for teachers across all Key Stages. Teachers need not attend the full meeting. For example KS5 staff may wish to only attend the 1st and last session and KS3/4 teachers may wish to leave after session 2.

We are fortunate to have one of our colleagues at MEI attending and delivering the session on the DESMOS classroom activities Natalie Vernon
