East London Teacher Network

Raising Girl's Participation

Sharing Best Practice

As usual, we'll start by sharing best practice.  Please come with a single weblink to a specific resource that you think is a good resource that every teacher should be aware of.

Raising Girls' Participation:
We know that overall girls tend to be under-represented in Level 3 maths (Core Maths, A Level Maths and Further Maths) overall.  This session will aim to give you some ideas to help you encourage girls to consider taking maths beyond GCSE.  Although the ideas are specifically pitched at Girls, the ideas would be appropriate for all genders.

Do I need to sign up/how do I sign up?
YES - Without signing up James can't send you a link to the online classroom.  Use the link on the right to request a place.

The network meeting is planned for 3:30 – 5pm.

Other Information

This is a version of a network that was offered earlier in the year.  At that Barking & Dagenham Teacher's Network, when asked about the most useful aspects of the network, feedback included:

"Ideas on gender comparison in the borough"

"Factors influencing choice of A Level Maths"

"Finding out the statistics about girls doing post 16 maths"
