Liverpool KS5 Teacher Network

Modelling Opportunities in A-Level Maths

These meetings, led by Mike Baxter, will cover some of the overarching themes and curriculum in the new A level. They will be practical and hands-on, with a chance to explore resources and ideas as well as an opportunity to talk about issues that arise from the new curriculum. Topics to be covered this year include: exam papers, statistics, problem-solving, mechanics and further mathematics.

This session will focus on developing modelling opotrtunities in the A-Level classroom. A number of specific ideas for teaching modelling will be offered and discussed. As always, teachers are encouraged to bring any materials and ideas for modelling they have used to the meeting.
