GCSE Maths CPD double-bill - teaching in context & next steps

Dalton-in-Furness

Overview

A two-part CPD afternoon for teachers of GCSE Mathematics, led by Catherine van Saarloos of the AMSP:

(a) Teaching in Context

Using authentic contexts can be engaging and motivating but what makes a context feel authentic? This session will give you an opportunity to explore maths in the context of other subjects and share topical resources to take straight to your lessons.

(b) Advising Students on their Next Steps

A short session to explore the maths options for students post-GCSE, including how maths courses can support other subjects and university applications. You will get ideas to take to the classroom which will encourage students to reflect on the maths they will need for their future careers.

Refreshments will be provided.
