An opportunity to enrich your student's problem solving skills in the new A-level Specification while gaining valuable CPD on embedding problem solving into A-level Lessons and information about University Admissions Tests.

Each teacher place comes with three places for students, both applications can be made using the apply button on the right hand side of the page. The form must be filled in individually for each student. If you would like to be added to a waiting list for more student places please email the organiser directly. 

Please note: Students and teachers will be separated during the event, students will spend the day with AMSP colleagues who hold an up to date CRB check. 

 

Who will benefit from attending?

Teachers of the new A-level Mathematics specification and pupils in year 12 or 13 who are studying for A-level Mathematics. 

Content

For Teachers;

  • Session 1: Supporting Students to Develop Problem Solving Skills
  • Session 2: Helping Students to Develop Internal Questionning Skills 
  • Session 3: Information on University Entrance Exams

For Students:

  • Session 1: Asking the Right Questions
  • Session 2: Working in a Group
  • Session 3: Logical Thinking

 The timings of each session will be emailed at a later date.

Materials and Equipment

Please bring paper / writing materials and a calculator, all other materials will be provided.

Other Information

A light lunch will be provided for teachers and students, as well as refreshments.
