Bradford KS5 Network
Making sense of modelling in A Level MechanicsOverview
Bradford KS5 Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project allowing teachers of maths to meet, to collaborate and to share professional development. We meet termly and the programme is a mixture of informal sessions and training events.
Content
Mathematical modelling has always been the basic concept underpinning Mechanics (that's why it used to be referred to as Applied Maths). This session looks at some of the key questions that appeared in the latest set of AS & A-Level papers and what we can learn from the students' responses. There will also be some T & L methodology shared for some of the topics which were formerly in the M2 course. Finally, you will be provided with a set of resources for teaching AS Mechanics and a full teaching pack for the A-Level contents (including lesson by lesson slides and assessment materials)
(Please note that there will be some overlap with the previous Mechanics PD/NT from last year on Projectiles, Ladder Probs and Kinematics).
