London North East Teacher Network
Proof and Technology in the new Pure Maths syllabus
Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of A level Mathematics to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. We meet termly. The sessions are split between trainer-led workshops (on a topic determined by staff preferences at previous meetings), teacher led presentations and a 'feedforward' discussion which informs planning for the impending term/year.
Open to Maths teachers from schools in the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Waltham Forest and beyond.
A CPD twilight session on how to address the elevated status of proof and technology in the new Single Maths A Level, focusing on the pure maths content. The twilight session will include
- a look at what proofs students can be expected to deliver, with specific reference to the June 2018 and 2019 exam papers
- a chance to look at what forms of technology are useful for students, and how technology can be used effectively by teachers in the classroom;
- and an opportunity to discuss and influence what events the AMSP will provide locally in the near future.
A Teacher Network Meeting with the same focus and structure will also run at Harrow School on Wednesday 4th December : see https://amsp.org.uk/events/details/6863 for details
