A day of mathematical activities and talks with the opportunity for students to meet enthusiasts of their own age from other schools.
The emphasis of the day will be that mathematics can be both engaging and challenging.
This conference will be of interest to sixth form students who are looking to explore mathematical problem-solving more deeply.

Who will benefit from attending?
This conference will be of interest to sixth form students who are looking to explore mathematical problem-solving more deeply. It is open to any student and it will be particularly relevant to students going on to sit STEP, MAT or TMUA examinations. Teachers can attend with up to 16 students and will have the opportunity to work on problems with their students or attend separate PD for A level teachers.

11.15-12.15 Group Activity – ‘Higher Dimensions’
2.00-2.30 Studying Maths at University and other subjects
2.30-2.45 Feedback and Goodbye
This Winsten Day is designed to run concurrently with the Features of Great A level PD day for A level teachers, so 1 or 2 Maths Teachers can accompany their year 12 students to the Winsten Day and attend the PD in a neighbouring room. See https://amsp.org.uk/events/details/6630 for details.
Students will bring their own packed lunch and drinks. Lunch will be provided for teachers.
