Year 12/13 Problem Solving Morning at Durham School

Durham

Overview

This is a one-off event for Durham this year, similar to the series of Year 12/13 Problem Solving events we have run in the past and currently run in Newcastle. We will look at Mathmatical Problem Solving through a set of competition-style questions, collaborative group work, and other problem solving activites.

Aims

  • Increase confidence in tackling mathematical problems
  • Lay foudations for prepations for STEP and similar papers

Who will benefit from attending?

Any Year 12/13 Mathematics student, especially if considering a mathematically based degree course. We would not reccomend this for students who have already attended the Newcastle (Gosforth Academy) course this year as we will use mostly the same materials.
